CILICIA. Anazarbus. Maximinus I, 235-238. Hexassarion (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 17.75 g, 6 h). ΑVΤ Κ Γ ΙΟY ΟYΗ ΜΑΞЄΙΜЄΙΝΟС СЄΒ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus I to right, seen from behind. Rev. ANAZAP/BOY Tetrastyle temple, with arcuated lintel and containing zodiac; between the columns to left and right, facing female figure holding globe (?) overhead. Naumann 63 (2018), 153. RPC VI online 7432. SNG Levante 1481 (same dies). SNG Paris 2102 (same dies). Extremely rare, by far the best of only five known examples. A very interesting issue with a wonderful reverse composition. Good very fine.
